Club History and Mission statement

GWFC was formed in 1973 as part of the resident’s association of the newly built Grange and Woodbine housing estates in Raheny on the north side of Dublin. The football club caters for children of all ages from 4 years old to Senior football. It is one of the founder members of the North Dublin Schoolboy League. It has teams in the NDSL and DDSL leagues today. In the early years the majority of its players came from the Grange and Woodbine estates, however it recent years it has expanded to take in players from other local areas including, Belmont Park, Ashcroft, Raheny, Donaghmede and other surrounding areas. It currently runs a nursery for under 4s to 6s and has teams from under 8 to under 19 in the NDSL and DDSL. It operates out of the Grange Woodbine Community Centre on Raheny road which has excellent newly fitted floodlit all weather training facilities and changing rooms and plays its matches in Edenmore park and Woodbine road pitches. The club has an active committee and gets great support from parents, players, coaches and managers.

At the centre of the club is our mission statement:

Grange Woodbine Football Club is a Community based Football Club and aims to offer all players, regardless of ability and background an opportunity to play football in a friendly, Safe, Relaxing and welcoming environment.
